I found out today that I will be able to get my Nando’s fix a few days earlier than I thought.

Nando’s fix, what is that?

Nando’s is a restaurant chain that started in South Africa in 1987. Nando’s is known for their peri-peri chicken which is a spicy Portuguese style chicken.

Peri-Peri sauce is made from African Birds Eye chillies. I first experienced Nando’s back in 2001 when I visited South Africa. Since that time I have also eaten at Nando’s in England and Australia.

One of the things that I look forward to when I visit Australia is getting my Nando’s fix.

I usually get my fix on the weekend when I go sightseeing in the Sydney city centre.

Today I got an e-mail from a colleague who is in Sydney and they have opened a Nando’s at the Macquarie Centre which is near our office and the hotel I will be staying in.

I will get my Nando’s fix almost a week earlier than I thought. Less than a month away now. Look for another post then 🙂

I could just take a 15 minute walk to the grocery store and pick up some Nando’s Peri-Peri sauce, but it is just not the same.

I am looking forward to being able to visit Nando’s close to home someday. Nando’s does have 15 locations in the US, but they are all clustered around Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. When are they going to spread west?
