On Friday I went to lunch at In-N-Out and took a few more pictures of the Pleasanton Chick-fil-A that will be opening soon on November 17.
In this picture you can see that the Chick-fil-A signs are now up on the building. The one on the north end of the building is in shadows, but you can clearly see the one above the drive thru window on the right.
Here is a closer look at the sign above the drive thru. This is actually a double drive thru. You can see the outer drive through window and in the shadows behind you can see the entrance for the inner drive thru.
Here you can see the exit for the inner drive thru. The double drive thru speeds up customer orders, especially during peak meal hours.
In this picture you can also see the Chick-fil-A sign that is on the south side of the building. It is above the main entrance to the restaurant.
Here is one more picture that I took. The site is definitely coming together as the opening date rapidly approaches.

Like other restaurants that follow the same model, (In N Out is an excellent example) Chick-fil-A focuses on a single product and makes sure it’s done as perfectly as possible. This concept drove the success of In N Out and it drives the crowds to Chick-fil-A for one thing, excellent tasting chicken. Competitors try to acquire market share by diversifying their product offerings. Add too much and you have a sameness of quality that tends not to be at the top of the game. This singular model, done right, proves that people still prefer quality over choice selection. The added fish sandwich or frappuccino coffee done half as good as Starbucks is not going to magically bring in added market share the way that “the best in town and all around” can do with ease.
