On my way home from the airport this afternoon I stopped by the construction site for the new Pleasanton Chick-fil-A. I wanted to see how far the construction had progressed.
In my post Pleasanton Chick-fil-A Construction Progress II, I had shared an opening date that had been posted on the Chick-fil-A website. However, when I checked today the Pleasanton location is no longer listed in the Future Openings section.
They do have a disclaimer that “Opening dates are tentative and subject to change,” and it seem that this has been the case.
Here was my first view of the building when I was exiting the interstate. I could immediately tell that construction had not progressed too far. I would imagine that the heat wave that California has been enduring has slowed down or even halted construction in some cases. I fully expected the roof to be finished, instead not much progress has been made in the last month.
I also expected the exterior of the building to be much further along. If you compare this with the picture from three weeks ago you will not see much change. Again, it is probably too hot to do some of the work that needs to be done.
I will be keeping my eye on the website to see when a new date is posted. My best guess would be a late September or early October opening date.
I guess I will need to go to In-N-Out every week or so for lunch to check and see how the construction is progressing.
For now it looks like we will all have to wait a little longer.
