Tonight I am thinking about my upcoming trip to Israel in June.

This time I will not be going on a Dig, but will be joining a tour along with some of my friends.

Bird Flying, Galilee, Sea of Galilee, Galilee Hills, SunsetWe will then go from Sea to Sea and spend some time near the Sea of Galilee.

Tel Hazor City Gates Solomon, tel Hazor, North of Galilee, ArchaeologyAfter visiting sites in the north like Tel Hazor we will then make our way south through the Jordan River valley.

Dead Sea - Israel - Lowest Point on EarthWe will then end up Well Below Sea Level near the Dead Sea.

Ramp to Lachish, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Archaeology, New vs. OldWe will then head on to Jerusalem via The Shephelah, which will include a stop at Lachish where I participated in an archaeological dig during the last two summers.

Hezekiah's Tunnel - Archaeology - Biblical Archaeology Review - BAR - Under Jerusalem - Water SystemWe will visit many places in Jerusalem, including Hezekiah’s Tunnel before heading back to Tel Aviv for the long flight home.

I am really looking forward to the trip as it will be with five friends from the congregation I worship with here in California. My friend Luke is the organizer of the trip and we will meet up with him and the other tour members in Tel Aviv.

It is time to start studying so I know even more about the places I will visit again.

Don’t be surprised if you see a few more posts about Israel as the trip gets closer and closer.

  1. Wow! Sounds and looks like it will be amazing. I would be most excited about the food, the people, and just seeing so many historical sites in person.
