Since I have just returned from Shanghai I thought I would share another of the Harry Potter books that I have in different languages. Previously I have written posts about Harry Potter in English, Spanish, German and Italian.

This is the Simplified Chinese version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

You can see that the cover art is the same as the English version that we are used to, except that it has a Chinese title.

Mainland China uses Simplified Chinese, perhaps someday I will pick up a copy in Traditional Chinese.

The back cover is also the same except that it has the title written in English.

The inner flyleaf has information about the story. It tells of how he lost his parents, hasn’t celebrated his birthday, lives under the stairs, etc..

I checked it out with my Universal Translator, to see if it was similar to what we find on the flyleaf of the English edition.

The back flyleaf is a biography of J. K. Rowling and tells the story of how she started writing the series.

When I came home from Shanghai I found that Harry Potter is very popular again with the release of the script of the screenplay Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I am not sure yet whether I will buy a copy of the book. I will have to take a look at it and see if it needs to be added to my collection.

I also heard that a movie is being filmed that is based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I will probably see the movie, but maybe not in the theaters.
