Flora and Fauna IX – High Park

Tonight I am a bit jet lagged as I traversed three time zones while enRoute yesterday.

Since I am tired I decided to share some Flora and Fauna pictures from High Park in Toronto.

High Park, Flora and Fauna, Yellow Flower, Yellow BeeI will start with a picture that has both flora and fauna. Can you see the bee in the center of the yellow flower? It is almost hidden since it has the same coloring.

High Park, Toronto, Canada, Flora, FlowersI also took some pictures of the lovely little composite flowers that had purple leaves and little white florets.

Squirrel, High Park, Toronto, Canada, Brown SquirrelNow on to some fauna. Here is a cute little squirrel that is feeding on a nut. I really like the bushy tail on this squirrel. It looks like it is almost ready for the cold winter.

Black Squirrel, High Park, Toronto, Canada, FaunaThere are also Black Squirrels at High Park. Click on the link to learn more about the Black Squirrels that are in Toronto. Have you ever seen a black squirrel?

Grenadier Pond, High Park, Canada, Toronto, MallardNow for one more picture. Here is a mallard swimming in Grenadier Pond. I like the way that the clouds are reflected in the still water of the pond. With the still water you can clearly see the wake of the mallard as it moves through the water.

There is another picture of this same mallard in my post High Park in the Fall.

I hope that you enjoyed this little look at Flora and Fauna.

Steven

Beautiful pics. My husband is always amazed at the black squirrels when we spend time in the GTA. 😉

When I was in elementary school in the 60s we only saw Black Squirrels around Chetek, Wisconsin where we went to Bible camp. They have extended their range now south to Eau Claire.
