Hits and Misses

Tonight I decided to share some of the recent Hits and Misses from my blog posts of the last several months. As always some of the posts I write get a lot of visits and some get very few.

Baseball, Cupcakes, Hostess, snack cakesOf course thinking of Hits and Misses makes me think of baseball and one of the most popular recent posts was: Hostess BASEBALL CupCakes

Northkill Amish Historical Marker - First Amish in America - Northkill Massacre - Hochstetler - Indian Raid

Other recent hits were posts written about my Amish ancestry. Of course, having one of my Amish ancestors featured on Who Do You Think You Are on TLC drew a lot of traffic to my post: Katy Sagal – Amish Ancestry

I also wrote a post about Genealogy Shows that generated a lot of visits.

Calico Captive - Elizabeth George Speare - Indian Captive - French and Indian WarSince I was thinking about the Northkill Raid I also wrote a post about Indian Captives. In the post I shared information about some of the books I have read about captives who were taken by Indians during the Colonial period.Johann Yoder, Tombstone, Tuscarawa County, Ohio, Amish, Sugarcreek

Two more posts about Amish genealogy and history,  Old Yoder Gravestones and Northkill Creek to Sugarcreek were also hits.

I guess I need to write more about Amish history and genealogy.

Chick-fil-A, Construction, Coming Soon, RestaurantComing Soon Chick-fil-A has been very popular in the last week as news about the new location near my office spreads. I need to do a follow-up post with updated construction pictures.

Tree Guide, Julia Ellen Rogers, Trees East of the Rockies, Doubleday, Page & Company, 1926Now for some misses. A post that I wrote about Arbor Day received very few visits.

Books about Flying, National Day of Prayer, May Day II and A Taxing Weekend were also misses.

The Firefighter, Tracy, California, SculptureOne post that was a miss surprised me. The Firefighter III – In the Rain has some great images and the previous posts in the series have been hits.

Sometimes the posts I think will be hits are misses and vice-versa. Also, some posts that are initial misses will be hits in the future. It all depends on what people are looking for or what people share with others.

Of course there are other hits and misses, but I need to close this post out and get some sleep.

Will this post be a Hit or Miss?

Steven

It is the same with me. Some post I think are great just sit there and do nothing. While others I feel that are just average seem to take off with magic wings. I do find it fun to watch and see what happens. The best part about having a blog is the people I meet through my blog.
