Over the past couple weeks I have been watching episodes of the Korean drama Late Night Restaurant. Every time that I start an episode it brings back memories of trips to Seoul.

The title sequence has a sequence of icon views of Seoul. I decided to go back through pictures from my last trip to Seoul and share my pictures of some of the same views.

The restaurant in the show is very near to Jongno Tower which is one of the most recognizable modern buildings in Seoul. The office building is 33 stories tall and is owned by Samsung Securities. This building is seen several times in the title sequence.

The Namdaemun or Great Southern Gate is one of the eight city gates from the Josean dynasty. The title sequence has a night shot of this gate.

Also shown in the title sequence is the N-Seoul Tower. This communication tower is on top of Mount Namsan which is the geographical center of Seoul. In the sequence the tower is seen from further away and you can see how the hill towers over the city. You can also visit my post Love Padlocks to learn more about this tower.

This sculpture by Coosje van Bruggen and Claes Oldenburg is also seen in the title sequence. The sculpture is right near the Cheong Gye Cheon which is a stream that flows through the center of Seoul. The stream has walkways along it and it is a very pleasant place to take a long walk.

The sequence also shows a tangle of power lines similar to this. This is a typical view in large Asian cities. I am so used to underground power lines now that it always interesting to see the tangle of lines in a big city.
