A WonderPho Dinner IV

I am staying at the Westin Prince near our office in Toronto which means that I had the opportunity to eat at one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants tonight.

WonderPho, North York, Toronto, Westin Prince, Pho

As you can see by the post title, there have been three previous posts about this restaurant: A WonderPho Dinner A WonderPho Dinner II and A WonderPho Dinner III

Condiments, WonderPho, Vietnamese Food, Pho, Plum Sauce, SirachaThis picture is partly for my brother who always takes pictures of the condiments at restaurants. However, I like to do the same, so is it really for him?

Here we have plum sauce, Sriracha, pepper paste and of course soup spoons and chop sticks for eating with.

Pho Ca Ri, Vietnamese Soup, Pho, Coconut Milk, Tumeric, galangal spiceTonight I had Pho Cá Ri with beef. The broth is made with coconut milk and also has turmeric and galangal spice for seasoning. You may not be as familiar with galangal spice. Galangal is similar to ginger, but has a slightly different flavor profile.

Of course I added in basil and bean sprouts as well as a healthy portion of Sriracha.

While I was in the middle of eating my meal the power went out in the restaurant. Luckily I was sitting near the door and the sun was partially lighting up the table.

Ice Cream, WonderPho, Canada, North YorkI knew that they had really nice ice cream at WonderPho, so also  had a nice bowl of vanilla ice cream to finish off my meal. In this picture you can see how much light I had to eat by.

When it came time to pay they had to give me a handwritten receipt since the computers were down. I hope that I won’t have any trouble with our expense reporting system. However, it was a very detailed handwritten receipt so I probably shouldn’t worry.

WonderPho, Vietnamese Cuisine, Pho, Lights Out, Power Outage, DinnerHere is a view of the restaurant with all the lights out. Luckily the sun was shining from the right direction to provide partial lighting.

I really enjoyed another WonderPho dinner. This would definitely be on my recommendation list of restaurants if I kept such a list 🙂
