Thinking of Flags

June 14 is Flag Day so I have been thinking of flags today. Tonight I will share some previous flag pictures from Bramanswanderings.

California Flag - US Flag - DMV - Department of Motor Vehicles - Cloudy SkyThis is the flag that flies above our local DMV. I always like to see flags flying in front of our government offices.

I took this picture when I had to go renew my license. See DMV Picture Time.

Flag Pole in Intersection - Hamburg, IowaThis next flag is in the center of an intersection on Hamburg Main Street in the town in Iowa where my father graduated from High School.

Flag Barn, Vasco Road, Livermore California, Detour, Traffic, Golden hillsYou can see flags almost anywhere. Even out in the country. I really like this Patriotic Barn.

Ammunition Cart, Civil War, Re-enactors, Tracy Historical MuseumHere are some Civil War era flags that were being flown during a Museum Day demonstration at our local museum.

Flag at Half-Staff, Tracy, Library, Patriot Day, September 11It is sad whenever the flag flies at half-staff, but it is a way to honor a person we have loss. This flag is outside our local library.

America Without Lincoln?, Editorial Cartoon, President LincolnOf course, flags are also common in editorial cartoons, especially if they are about one of our greatest presidents. I really like this editorial cartoon that is titled America Without Lincoln? Click on the link for more about the cartoon.

  1. Pastor Cathy says:

The American flag stands at the entrance of the piano area at the church where I play on Sunday mornings. Precious country.
