Australia Day

Tuesday is Australia Day. It is Monday night as I write this but it is already Australia Day down under.

Sydney Harbour - February 2014 - Winter Olympics Sochi - Winter Olympics in SummerAustralia Day marks the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.

So, to honour Australia Day here are a few pictures from Sydney.

Taronga Zoo - Sydney Harbour - Sydney Australia - Opera House - Zoo with a ViewHere is a view of the Sydney skyline from the Taronga Zoo across the harbour.

Sydney Harbour Bridge - Bridge Clime - Sydney, Austrlia - Australian FlagsHere  you can see a closeup view of the Australian flag on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

You can also see a group of people on top of the bridge. If you are not afraid of heights and have a couple hundred dollars to spare you can climb to the top of the bridge. This is not on my bucket list 🙂

Braai, sausage, steak, chops, hot dogsI am sure that some of my Australian friends will have a barbecue. Or perhaps they will have an Afternoon Braai since some of them are from South Africa.Sydney Opera House - Time Travel - Sunset - Sydney Harbour - SeagullOr, maybe they will spend some time at Sydney Harbour and watch the sunset near the Sydney Opera House.

So, for all of my Australian friends I wish you a happy Australia Day.
