Big Cats at the Zoo

Since lions have been in the news lately I thought I would share some pictures of Big Cats at the Zoo.

Lion, Lioness, Sydney Zoo, Taronga Zoo, Big Cat, King of the JungleI will start with a picture of a lion and lioness at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia. You can see that they are resting up getting ready for a game of basketball.

I like the big mane on the lion. He looks so majestic.

Sleeping Lion, Taronga Zoo, Hot Day, Sydney ZooThe next time I visited the Taronga Zoo it was summertime and all the lion wanted to do was sleep. Aren’t lions supposed to sleep at night? I though that is what I learned from the Tokens.

Lioness, Ueno Zoo, Tokyo, Japan, LionsHere is a lioness from the Ueno Zoo in Tokyo. I really liked this zoo and need to share more pictures from it in the future.

Taronga Zoo - Sumatran Tiger - Panthera tigris sumatrae - Zoo - TigersHere is a Tarongan Tiger. Actually it is a Sumatran Tiger, but it is at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia. I think that this is one of the best pictures I have taken of a tiger.

For more tiger pictures see my post Sumatran Tigers.

White Lions, Toronto Zoo, Panthera leo krugeri, Canada, chutiya geneNow back to lions. Here is a picture of Fintan who is one of the White Lions at the Toronto Zoo. Click on the link for more pictures.

Which of these big cats would you like to pet?
