The Firefighter II

While scanning through pictures files looking for something interesting to post I ran across another set of pictures that I took of the Tracy Firefighter statue.

I am short on time as the Kansas City Royals won in extra innings. They are off to another great start to a series. I have been having lots of Baseball Memories. Especially of watching the Royals play in the World Series when I was in college.

My mind is wandering again, so back to the topic.

You can read more about The Firefighter by clicking on the link in this sentence. Tonight will be mainly a picture post.

You can see that the statue is very detailed, but how about a closer view?

The helmet is very detailed, but it is not the only place you should look in this picture.

Look at the individual stitches on his shirt and pants, and the blood vessels in his arm.

Firefighter Statue, Tracy, California, Lawrence NobleI really like the detail in the coat he is holding. Can you see the grain in the leather and the way that the letters stand out?

I took these pictures back in 2011, and I need to go take a few more to see how the patina is changing.

Whenever I drive by this statue I always think of our firefighters and the dangerous services that they perform for us.

For a look at another Tracy sculpture click on Harvest of Progress or Sunset and the Harvest of Progress.
