This evening I was back at the Macquarie Centre for another Nando’s Fix.
I am so glad that they opened the restaurant in Macquarie Centre so that I can get more than one Nando’s Fix during the trip.
I put in my order and picked up a couple bottles of sauce to take to my table. I like the heat of the Hot sauce, but the taste of the Medium sauce. I especially like the Medium sauce on the chips.
I ordered my normal 1/4 chicken and chips. Of course, it was delicious as usual.
A business development manager from Nando’s was in the store. I talked to him about my experiences with Nando’s around the world and we talked about things that made Nando’s in Australia unique.
The manager asked me if I had tried the ribs. I had not tried them, and was trying to image what they would be like. He asked me if I had a little bit of time and then treated me to an order of the ribs.
Imagine a pile of chips along with these ribs to get the feel for the plate. They look a bit like chicken wings, but looks are deceiving in this case.
Each of the ribs had a small rib piece along with a large portion of white breast meat.
Here are the remain of the ribs after I cleaned them of most of the meat. I mainly used the Braman two fork method to clean the meat off of the bones.
The ribs were very delicious. The nice succulent breast meat and the flavorful rib meat made a great combination. In normal fried chicken it is very hard to get to the meat on the ribs. The way that they prepare these ribs make this very flavorful meat accessible. I was impressed.
Long ago I worked in the food processing industry, but had never seen chicken ribs. I did find that a way of processing them was patented in the late 90’s, which was after I started working in my current job.
Definitely a great meal at Nando’s tonight. I hope that they come to California soon so that I can get my Nando’s Fix more often.
Have you ever had Chicken Ribs?
Steven

That looks amazing – never had them.
Yummy!!! Never had them, but they look delicious.

Thanks so much for this post! My daughter (aged 7) had a sample of Nandos chicken at the local shopping centre today and I was sure the server said they were ribs (but I didn’t believe it as I’ve never had chicken ribs before). Your post explains it all!
Good to have another food choice for a slightly fussy eater!
And yes, they were yum! 🙂

Yeah just ate the chicken ribs normally the store we get them at they are beautiful but tonight they were burnt to a cinder so not too happy about that the rest of the meal was ok but think the people who cooked it tonight weren’t the normal staff they have on.
