Last Monday I posted about Harvest of Progress which is a new sculpture in downtown Tracy.
I mentioned in the post that it would probably look really cool silhouetted against a nice sunset.
I have kept my eye open for the right opportunity to go back and get some sunset pictures. Tonight was the night.
I spent the afternoon getting my car smogged and dropping off books at the library. When I left the library I noticed that it looked like we would have a nice sunset so turned toward downtown instead of heading for home.
Here we have the new sculpture silhouetted against the sunset. From this angle it is hard to tell that there are two figures standing back to back. I would recommend that you visit my the Harvest of Progress post to see a better view of the sculpture. The post also tells more about the sculpture and what it represents.
In this picture you can see both men. If you look on the left side of the picture you can see the right arm of the farmer that is facing me and the left arm of the railroad conductor that is facing toward the sunset.
I am looking forward to summer sunsets as the sky will be lit up in a different direction so I can get a different perspective.
Of course, I could probably get some good sunrise pictures, but I am not usually a morning person 🙂
I also took pictures of some of the transportation art around the transit station, but decided that I need to come back when there is much better light.
I hope you enjoyed this different look at the Harvest of Progress sculpture.
Steven
All the best to you and yours in the coming year!
Really neat pictures …
