Tonight I am remembering my Grandma who was born 90 years ago today.
The picture above is one of my favorite pictures of my Grandma. When I show this picture to friends, they say that I favor her in the way that I look.
I have so many great memories of my Grandma. When I was growing up she lived far away in California, and I remember taking trips on the train to go visit here. I also remember the trips when she would come and visit us.
My Grandma was also a nurse, and helped me make my career choice to work in the medical field. When my grandparents retired they moved to Missouri and I was able to get to know them better.
I really loved my Grandma’s cooking. I especially remember her Banana Creme Pie.
My Grandma also liked and collected Scottie dogs. I have one from her collection that has a lot of meaning for me, but that is a different post.
My Grandma was also a twin.
Here is a picture of my Grandma and my great-uncle when they were young.
I also have great memories of visiting my great-uncle as he lived in Omaha which was not far from where my other Grandma and Grandpa lived.
My great-uncle was a big Huskers fan and always enjoyed watching their football games. I do not watch much football today, but when I do I like to watch the Huskers and cheer for them. I often think of him when I watch the games.
Steven

Steven, she’s a beautiful lady!!!
What a nice post Steven, you were so lucky to get to know her. My Grandma passed when I was really just a baby. Your Grandma has a really sweet and gentle face. I always thought it’d be fun to have a twin.
