Happy Mother’s Day

Sunday is Mother’s Day.

Tonight I will share pictures of my mother and grandmothers and a little bit about how they have influenced my life.

Mother's Day - Mother and Baby - Mother's Day on the Farm - Wellman, IowaHere is my mother with me as a tiny little baby. This is currently my profile picture on Facebook and usually is during Mother’s Day weekend each year.

I want to thank my mother for all that she has done for me through the years.

My mother was a teacher and is definitely one of my teaching influences. However, we are at opposite ends of the education ladder. My mother taught Kindergarten and I teach adults.

Grandma - Remembering Grandma - Nurse - MemoriesThis is my mother’s mother.

My grandmother was a nurse and is one of my health care influences. I am glad that I work in a field that also helps people with their health.

I have many friends who say that I look like my grandmother.

Grandma - Photo Booth Picture - 1930's Photo Booth Pictures - Old-Time PhotographyHere is my dad’s mother.

This is one of my favorite pictures of my grandmother. This was taken in an early photo booth. Click on the following link to see the picture of my grandfather that was taken at the same time: Old-Time Photography III

From my grandmother I get my love for history and genealogy. Oh how I wish I could share some of my family history discoveries with her today.

I thought about adding in my great-grandmothers, but I don’t have all the pictures handy and my midnight deadline is rapidly approaching. They will have to wait for future posts.

Happy Mother’s Day!
