Lincoln’s Birthday 2022

Today was President Lincoln’s birthday. I was reminded of this when I visited the library today and there was a notice that they would be close for the observance of his birthday on Monday.

1960 Scrapbook Clipping - Abraham LIncoln - Frank MillerLincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in Hardin County, Kentucky. My 3rd Great Grandfather Thomas Bolin was born in the same county in about 1808. The Lincoln and Bolin families both moved to Perry County, Indiana in the mid 1810’s.

One of my reading goals is to read the entire Carl Sandburg six volume series about Lincoln.

Mister Lincoln, Rose Bush, Red Rose, Rose BloomsI also have a Mister Lincoln rose bush in my rose garden. Every time I see it I am reminded of this great man. He may not have been liked by many in government, but he left a great legacy.
