Today was President Lincoln’s birthday. I was reminded of this when I visited the library today and there was a notice that they would be close for the observance of his birthday on Monday.
Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in Hardin County, Kentucky. My 3rd Great Grandfather Thomas Bolin was born in the same county in about 1808. The Lincoln and Bolin families both moved to Perry County, Indiana in the mid 1810’s.
Lincoln is my favorite President and and was also my Grandma’s favorite. I keep a little figure of him on top of my computer along with one of Washington.
They are part of a set of figurines I got from my Grandma. See: Marx Presidents
I also have a tall stack of books about Abraham Lincoln. Not quite as tall as me, but getting close.
One of my reading goals is to read the entire Carl Sandburg six volume series about Lincoln.
I also have a Mister Lincoln rose bush in my rose garden. Every time I see it I am reminded of this great man. He may not have been liked by many in government, but he left a great legacy.

I was thinking of President Lincoln. A co worker married her husband who carries the same resemblance as Abe Lincoln. They have presented presentation’s of Abe Lincoln and his wife.
