As December begins I have been thinking back to two years ago when I took my last trip away from home.
The trip was to Jena, Germany to teach a couple courses at our office there. Who would have thought at that time that I would not travel for the next two years.
I like to visit Germany in December as it is a festive time of year especially with the local Christmas markets that are full of food and entertainment.
It also snowed during the time I was there, which is something that I miss here in California.
Another highlight of the trip to Germany was taking a train trip to Chemnitz on the weekend to visit an archaeological museum. There was a special exhibition of Life at the Dead Sea – Archaeology from the Holy Land that I wanted to see as they were using some pictures that I had taken in one of the displays. See: Life at the Dead Sea
Finally it was time to head home and here are my bags on the train station platform as I wait for the train for the first leg of the journey.
A lot has happened since I made it home from Germany, but my bags have remained unpacked for almost two years now.
