Earlier this week I taught a lesson about Jericho, so thought I would share a few Jericho related pictures that I have taken.
I will start with a picture of the ruined walls of Jericho.
Next is of one of the trenches excavated by Kathleen Kenyon.
Perhaps these vessels at the Archaeology and Anthropology Museum in Cambridge, England were found in the trench above.
Jericho is considered the oldest city in the world. There were springs around the site that would have led it to be a place of gathering.
There is a spring just by Tel es-Sultan (the ruins of Jericho) that is believed to be the spring where Elisha healed the waters by dumping salt into it. The water is still fresh to this day.
