Jericho

Earlier this week I taught a lesson about Jericho, so thought I would share a few Jericho related pictures that I have taken.

Tell es-Sultan - Walls of Jericho - Joshua - Walls Come Tumbling Down - Rahab - HarlotI will start with a picture of the ruined walls of Jericho.

Jericho Trench, Kathleen Kenyon, Tell es-Sultan, Walls of JerichoNext is of one of the trenches excavated by Kathleen Kenyon.

Jericho, Cambridge, Archaeology and Anthropology Museum, Katherine KenyonPerhaps these vessels at the Archaeology and Anthropology Museum in Cambridge, England were found in the trench above.

Oldest City in the World - Jericho - Tell es-SultanJericho is considered the oldest city in the world. There were springs around the site that would have led it to be a place of gathering.

2 Kings 2, Elisha, Jericho, Spring, Bitter, SaltThere is a spring just by Tel es-Sultan (the ruins of Jericho) that is believed to be the spring where Elisha healed the waters by dumping salt into it. The water is still fresh to this day.
