Today I did some end of winter yard work since it was the last day of winter.
I am definitely ready for the First Day of Spring tomorrow.
The most important item on my list was to get my back yard mowed. When you can see where you walked after crossing the yard it is definitely time to mow. The winter rains and the recent warm weather have contributed to the tall grass.
Here is a better look at how tall the grass is. I had to go back and forth several times with the mower to cut the grass.
The back yard does look pretty nice with it all mowed. My yard work day is usually Saturday and with the rainy season coming to an end mowing will be on my schedule almost every Saturday as spring begins.
I already have a few rose blooms. On this one you can see a lady bug that is helping me keep the aphids under control. Unfortunately, this is the only one that I saw and it is way behind on the job.
I decided it was time to help out and I sprayed some aphid soap on my roses.
Maybe on Monday I will go pick up some more lady bugs.
More buds are starting to open and soon my rose bushes will be full of colorful blooms.
I really like watching rose buds slowly open, so am glad that I live where there is a long growing season.
Now to sleep to wake up to spring.
