When I travel for business my blog often starts looking like a food blog. This is understandable as I can’t share too much about my work and the other main item on the agenda during the work week is eating 🙂
As I mentioned last week, I started this blog last year when I made my last trip up here to Toronto.
I am staying at the same hotel, so am revisiting some of the restaurants from the last trip.
For lunch we all went to Five Guys. I have been to Five Guys only twice, and both of them at the same place here in Canada. My opinion of their food did not change much on this trip.
Tonight I went back to one of my favorite restaurants from the last trip and had a WonderPho dinner.
One thing that I noticed right away was that they had new place mats. I really love this illustration of a Vietnamese Street Food cart.
They also brought a basket full of delicious taro chips to the table. These chips had a wonderful taste and crunch. I am trying to remember if I have seen chips like these before. Maybe smaller ones, but not this big.
For my dinner I decided to have Pho Ca Ri. If you look at my blog post from last year you will see that I had Pho Cari. I was expecting it to be the same, but it had a different broth. This one had a Yellow Curry Chicken broth and the one last year had a Coconut Curry broth that was nice and spicy.
I did spice this one up a bit with some Sriracha.
As you can see, I did like the Pho Car Ri. I liked the one with the Coconut Curry sauce better, but this one was also delicious.
I also found out tonight that I won’t be revisiting the scene of my Slow Lunch from last year. The restaurant has gone out of business and a different one is getting ready to open up in the same place.
I hope you enjoyed a look at my mid-week cuisine.
Steven

You made me hungry, think I’ll get a piece of Shelly’s pumpkin pie and a dip of ice cream!!!
