This evening I have had a tough time deciding what to post. I thought about writing a post about making it to 25,000 views on my blog and posting pictures from some of the most popular posts.
The other idea that was wandering through my mind was some old valentine cards in one of my Grandma’s scrapbooks. I decided that this was the one that needed to be written tonight.
These cards come from a scrapbook that is 50 years old, and were clipped from an article that was showing cards from 50 years earlier. These century old valentines are really neat. I don’t know for sure, but they probably came from the Sunday Des Moines Register.
I really like this card. The child with the dove is surrounded by pretty pink roses, and the colors are beautiful together.
This one is also really neat. The big heart looks really cool lying at the girl’s feet. The little boy in the clown suit also really makes this card. Can you imagine dressing up as a clown and laying a large heart at the feet of your Sweetheart?
These century old cards bring back many memories of when I was a kid giving out valentines to all the other kids at school. I remember buying the packs of cards and agonizing over who got which card. Which ones do I give to Cindy, Joella, Lisa, Angela and April? What would they think if I gave them a cute card? Which one gets the prettiest card? Sweet memories of a kinder, gentler time :-).

I’m always pinning vintage cards, love them. I wonder if the cards we give now will be considered vintage in 100 years by some space suit wearing valentine cupid? You sure had a long list of Valentine recipients there Steven 😉
I finally broke down and signed up for Pinterest. Don’t really know what I am doing yet :-). I do have two board though and I think I am following your vintage cards board.
Hey Awesome Steven, now you can waste oodles of time along with the rest of us….LOL. I’ll come find you via the follow, thank you for that. Now we can share 😀
