Welcome to another Wednesday Image Search where I pick a string of letters or a word and share some of the images I find in an image search of the blog.
Awhile back I searched for ‘hat’ and ‘bat’ so started a theme of ‘?at’ words. I finished the theme, so am now searching for double vowels
Tonight in the new theme of double vowels I am searching for ‘uu’.
These should be interesting. There are not a lot of words with double ‘uu’ so had to hunt hard for the images.
What images will I find?
With the first image we have a vacuum cleaner. This is one of a limited number of English words with double ‘u.’
The second image is of vacuum packed Dayuling tea, which is a high mountain tea from Taiwan.
Next we have to draw in another language. Here we have Wafuu Beef at a Japanese restaurant in Australia. Wafuu means Japanese style and should not be confused with Wagyu beef.
Next we switch to Latin for Grévy’s zebra (Equus grevyi) at the Sao Paulo Zoo.
Finally we have a bee collecting pollen on what is possibly a Carduus acanthoides or a similar species from the Carduus genus. This picture of a bee on a thistle was taken in Turkey very near to the Syrian border.
There is not a lot of variety in these images as ‘uu’ is not in many words. I really had to hunt for the images and change some file names.
Which is your favorite of these ‘uu’ pictures?
What should I search for next? I think I may go back and continue the theme of double vowels by doing additional searches for ‘ee’ and ‘oo.’
