On Saturday I visited the Community Rose Garden after stopping by the library to drop of some books.
I was surprised to finds some nice looking blooms on a few of the rose bushes.
I really liked the structure of this light red rose. No wilting of the edges of the petals and no heat damage. Roses like it when the temperature is no so hot.
This rose looks a bit smashed but the petals are all intact. I like the coloring of this rose with the lavender highlights on the edges of the petals.
Can you see the spider hiding between the petals of this light pink rose?
I was able to get a few pictures of this hover fly. The hover fly is good pollinator.
Finally we have this beautiful multi-color rose. This one has a bit more damage to the petals from some hotter weather early last week.
These remind me that I need to do some work with my own rose bushes. They need to be cleaned up a bit so I can enjoy my fall roses better.
