Tonight I am going to share pictures of towers that I have shared over the years.
I am going to start with a picture of the oldest tower in the world. This is the Neolithic tower at Tell es-Sultan. Tell es-Sultan is better know as Jericho. Of course most people remember Jericho for the walls, but it also has this very old tower that was uncovered.
Here is an image from one of my Grandma’s Scrapbooks of the mysterious round tower at Newport, Rhode Island. See my post Newport Tower to see what my theory is for the origin of the tower.
This tower is in the hills above Jena, Germany. This is known as the Fuchsturm or the Fox Tower. I have been by the tower many times over the years. It has a wonderful restaurant beside it that serves some very traditional food.
Closer to home is the new Salesforce Tower in San Francisco which was completed in 2018. It is the tallest tower, by roof-line, west of the Mississippi River.
I will end with a tower that I built at home using Ankerstein set NF10.
I really like this Lookout Tower.
See Building a Tower for more details.
I hope you enjoyed these towers from around the world.
