Today was the day for the painters to get started on the actually painting of my house.
I heard them pull into the drive this morning and I poked my head out the front door to see if they needed anything before I headed back to work.
I heard a bunch of bumping and banging, but one of the first sings from the inside was seeing a ladder through the window. Looks like I need to work on cleaning some cobwebs.
It was a bit hard to stay focused on work as I kept hearing paper rusting and the sound of tape coming off the roll. I eventually started hearing the sound of the paint pump which has a distinctive sound. I finally just had to take a morning break and see what was going on.
It is a little hard trying to visualize how dust accumulates on parts inside an instrument while at the same time paint is being sprayed on the side of the house. However, I decided to think of the paint like a spray of dust and may have figured out some of the dust problems I have been working on.
They had a lot of prep work to do before they could get painting.
By late afternoon they had most of the body of the house painted. You could see nice long expanses of new color. Tomorrow they will mainly be working on the trim.
It is going to be interesting to see what color the house is in different light conditions. The color on the back of the house definitely looks a bit different. Perhaps it is the light reflecting off of the neighbors house which is a dark brown.
More updates tomorrow as the painting of the trim starts to pull everything together.
