This week I made another trip to the library to pick up books and drop some off.

Of course I had to take another stroll through the rose garden.

Last week I found a mantis on one of the roses. Of course pictures were taken and two were shared in my post Flora and Fauna XIV – Rose Garden.

Guess what? The mantis was in a group of roses on the same bush. So more pictures were taken.

The mantis had a nice perch to watch what was going on.

I like to call this one ‘Peeking Mantis’ as it is peeking over the edge of a bloom.

I like this closeup as it really shows how big the eyes are in comparison with the rest of the head.

Now if I can only find a mantis on my own rose bushes. I had baby ones early this year, but they must have all disappeared.
