I will continue the series of animal posts with some pictures of dogs.
I will start with a Kangal Dog or Anatolian Shepherd. These dogs are used to guard sheep in Turkey. Notice the spiked collar.
Thinking of big dogs. Here is a Great Dane that I often saw while teaching a course in Buenos Aires.
The dog’s owner would walk it by the hotel every day and often at the time we were coming back from dinner. She was very friendly and would always stop and talk to my students.
The dog was so big that when it stood up on its hind legs it could rest the paws on her shoulders.
It is always interesting trying to get a dog to hold still for the camera. I succeeded with this one.
This barnyard dog always comes and greets me when I visit and I sometimes get a good picture.
I have to add this one in. This was the dog I had while growing up. Isn’t she so pretty? Pat was a Long Haired Chihuahua. We had Pat for a long time and I have many memories of her.
