This is post number III of Are You Smarter than Your Teacher?
In the first post I explained what is behind the title and covered the first two categories of the game I included in a lesson on Psalm 119. In the second post I covered the next two categories.
I really liked Speech class in High School and one of the things we needed to do was memorize things. The challenge with this question is probably not knowing the words of some of the verses in Psalm 119, but to know that they are from the Psalm. There are some very well know verses in this Psalm.
Psalm 119:9 is a very well known verse, but many do not know it is in this Psalm.
Just two verses later is another well known verse about storing up the word in your heart.
Psalm 119:18 is an eye opening verse 🙂 Help us to behold wondrous things.
A list of well know verses from Psalm 119 would not be complete without verse 105. I would think of this verse every morning as I would climb up to a dig site in Israel before the sun came up to light the way.
Name 3 songs in our Hymnal based on Psalm 119.
Did you know that there are a lot of songs based on Psalm 119?
One of the reasons that so many verses in the Bible are turned into songs are because they help us learn. Psalm 119:54 says that “Your statutes have been my songs”.
Here is a list of songs that are in the hymnal we use that are based on Psalm 119. I would imagine that you know most of these songs and have sung them often. Did you know that they came from Psalm 119?
In the next post we will cover the Anatomy and Phys Ed questions.
