Tomorrow, December 7th, is the 56th wedding anniversary for my parents.
It is easy for me to remember when their anniversary is as it is the day after my work anniversary. I started to work for my current company just before their 30th anniversary. Actually it is the opposite. I remember my work anniversary because of theirs.
Of course, each year I am also reminded by news items about upcoming celebrations for the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. However, when I am traveling this is not always the case.
This year I am in Germany and will probably not see anything about Pearl Harbor Day.
Here is a picture of my parents on their wedding day 56 years ago. They look so young 🙂
They were married in Frytown, Iowa where my grandfather was preaching.

My Mom still has the cake top from her wedding cake and it was used at their Golden Anniversary celebration six years ago.

Here you can see part of their wedding cake. Wedding cakes bring back so many memories for me as my mother used to decorated cakes. I have many Facebook friends who had wedding cakes that were made by my mother.
I also have one of the gifts that they were given for their wedding hanging in my living room.
This beautiful waterfall was painted by Eva Fry who was a member of the Frytown congregation.
The painting is based on an Ansel Adams picture of Vernal Falls in Yosemite National Park.
Have a wonderful anniversary Mom and Dad!!
Steven
