On Friday I took a walk after having lunch at work.
Of course, my destination was the construction site near our building when our new one is being built. They have definitely started on the building. The building may look small, but this is only a small portion of the building. They have the steel erection broken up into sections and this is just the first one. However, this is how tall the building will be.
Here we see the Big Red Crane moving one of the beams. In the signboard you can see a depiction of what the finished building will look like. This is only the far right part of the building in the picture.
Here is a closer picture of the construction and you can see the men working on the top levels. They have also built some temporary stairs so that the workers no longer have to climb up a ladder to get to where they need to work.
The construction seems to be going fast, but there is a lot more to construction than just putting up the steel beams. Putting up the steel structure will take many weeks, and some of it I will watch from far away on the construction cam.
When I walk I am also watching out for other things to take pictures of, especially flora and fauna.
I did see a rabbit, but he hopped away too quick to get a picture.
On the way back to the office I saw this patch of thistles and noticed that there was a bee doing a bit of pollination.
Of course, I had to try and get a good picture of the bee. This one was not too bad. I got a few more pictures, but they will have to wait for a future Flora and Fauna post.
It was nice to have a good afternoon walk before an important meeting in the afternoon.
