On Friday I wore my red and black flannel shirt to work and received a few lumberjack comments. One of my coworkers told me to go cut down a tree.
Well, I didn’t cut down a tree today, but I did do a bit of tree trimming.
I had a lot of yard work to do today. It has been piling up. I had to at least mow my front and back yards and I knew I needed to doing some tree trimming.
In fact, I had recently purchased a pole saw so that I could reach branches that needed to be pruned out of my trees.
Here I am trimming some of the branches that were in most need of pruning. Unfortunately, I was not able to do all the work I wanted as it was very windy. I only took care of a few of the ones that were closest to the roof and fence. The blowing of the branches in the wind actually showed me which ones were most urgent.
I started lining up the branches along my walkway and had planned on breaking them down further later. However, since I had to stop cutting branches out of the tree I decided to take care of them today.
I was able to fill most of the yard waste bin, and then filled the rest of it with some rose bush clippings. My roses look a bit better now. Even though it is December some of them are still in full bloom. I will probably be trimming them all the way back sometime in January.
After finishing my yard work I went to the library to return and pick up books. It was then off for my Saturday shopping.
I needed some paper towels, but didn’t have too much trouble figuring out which ones to buy today. Since I looked a bit like the Brawny man it had to be Brawny.
I have seen a lot of red and black flannel this year. It is definitely a look I like. Reminds me of a proper winter with some good cold weather.
Oh, I didn’t wear the shirt to do my yard work. I wouldn’t want to risk ruining my nice shirt.
However, it was definitely a lumberjack day.
