Yesterday I finally completed one of my reading challenges. The challenge was to read through the entire collection of Sir Arthur Conan Doyles’ Sherlock Holmes stories.
I do have this complete one-volume work with all 4 novels and the 56 adventures, but this is not what I read them from. This would be too bulky to take with me while traveling so instead I read most of them from a two volume set that I have.
I bought this set of books while on a trip to South Korea. I was using up some of my extra money at the airport and as usual was spending it on books.
At one time the location of the first volume was a mystery to me and figured in a series of posts:
I had finished most of the challenge months ago and the second volume has been rattling around in the passenger seat of my car since that time. I finally needed a book to read on Saturday while having my routine snack at Target so I took it in with me. I only had three or four adventures left, so was able to finish it up.
I am now thinking of reading the five Professor Challenger books that Doyle wrote. I have the first volume in the series and have read it a few times. Click on The Lost World to learn more about this book.
I am not sure how available the Professor Challenger books are. I will have to check with the library.
Have you read any of the Professor Challenger books?
Steven
