Have you see the live feed of April the Giraffe?
It has now been over a month since the Animal Adventure Park has been streaming video of April who is about to give birth.
I just took a screen capture and you can see that over 100,000 people are currently watching the Animal Adventure Park Giraffe Cam.
I will share some pictures of giraffes that I have taken in zoos around the world as I continue with some of my thoughts.
I always like seeing giraffes at the zoo. They are such majestic animals.
This giraffe is at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia.
I do not watch the Giraffe Cam for long periods of time, but will usually check in to see if the baby has come yet.
This giraffe lives at the Toronto Zoo.
Since I am watching on YouTube there are other videos listed on the page which give updates about the signs that April is about ready to give birth.
It seems that for the past two weeks it could be any moment. I am wondering if not enough is known about when a giraffe is about to give birth, or whether they are just trying to keep people tuned in.
Here we have a tower of giraffes at the San Diego Zoo.
There are videos of giraffes giving birth on YouTube, so if you really want to see a birth you can watch at any time. However, as with many viral events like this they want you to build an attachment so that you will continue to come back and of course plan a visit to go see them at the Animal Adventure Park.
I am sure they would get a lot of visitors to see April if Harpursville, New York was a little closer to a big city.
Here are two giraffes at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska.
The live feed has definitely helped with fund raising for the animal park as their official funding site has received almost double their goal.
However, many fake sites have also been set up and have taken advantage of people who want to donate to April the Giraffe. It is always important to carefully research before making donations to any organization on the internet.
Of course interest will continue as they have a naming contest and many will continue to watch as the baby giraffe starts to grow up.
Now to check one more time to see if April has given birth before I go to bed.
🙂
