I have begun to apply the Packing Formula again as I prepare for my long flight southward.
This time the formula is just a bit different as I am staying in a serviced apartment that has a washer and dryer. I can pack a little bit less than what I normally do for a two week trip.
This of course leaves more room in the suitcase for a few extra books. These of course are not the books I am taking with me. These were some of the books that I read during my Newbery Challenge.
Wandering thought – When will the 2017 announcement come? Must research, it should be soon.
The 2017 Newbery Medal and Honor books were just announced, so I will be putting them on hold at the library so that I can read them when I return. Last year I was out of the country when the 2016 Newbery Books were announced. The medal winner last year was Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Peña.
This year the winner is The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill.
OK, now back to the original idea of the post.
Here is my apartment room from my last trip to Sydney. This was a studio apartment, but this time I will be in a little bit larger one-bedroom unit where the bed is separate from the kitchen and living area.
I will also have the same beautiful surroundings. See my post Around the Apartment for more pictures of the area.
Here is what my suitcase looks like now. I need to get busy 🙂
Tomorrow Clifford will be full of clothes and ready to be put in the car for the first leg of the trip.
