Wandering North

Tomorrow I will be wandering north of the border.

I get to go to Toronto again to teach a class and also to visit some very good friends. I will actually spend more time visiting my friends that in teaching class. It should be a relaxing trip.

Of course, this means that I need to solve The Packing Formula and get Clifford and my other bags all ready for the trip.

The evening has been spent doing laundry and folding clothes. I still have a few other tasks, but I am almost ready to solve the geometry problem and get everything in the suitcase.

Chalk, tie dye chalk, glitter chalk, crayolaThere are a few extra items in the suitcase as I found a few little items for my friend’s youngest daughter.

I found these Tie Dye and Glitter sidewalk chalk sticks and just had to add them to my shopping cart.

Sidewalk Chalk, Crayola, 24 colors, sidewalk artEarlier I had bought a box of 24 different colors, so they will also be in my bag.

It will probably be a bit cold to be drawing on the sidewalk, but it won’t be long until I will see pictures of some of her drawings.

Canadian Money, Currency, Bills, Canadian Dollars, colorful moneyWhile cleaning out my bags I also found the leftover bills from previous trips. I have enough that I probably will not have to visit an ATM while I am there.

What I found was a mix of old and new currency. I like some aspects of the older currency and some of the new. I like the old five dollar bill better as it looks more Canadian with the hockey players.

Mr. Lincoln rose, rose bush, spring flowers, red roseI was hoping that more of my roses would be blooming before I left on the trip. This bud on my Mr. Lincoln rose is definitely ready to open. When I get back I should have half a dozen blooms on the bush, but some of them may already be spent as they do not last long once they have bloomed.

St. Patrick Rose, Rose Bud, Yellow Rose, Spring RosesHere is the St. Patrick bud that is furthest open. It may be a little bit more open in the morning. There are about 15-20 buds that are about to open so I am sure I will come back to a rose bush full of beautiful yellow roses. These blooms last much longer so I will definitely be able to enjoy them.

However, it may not be for too long as I may have to go wandering again a day or two after I get home.

Now to finish packing!

Steven
