Today I needed to go to a store that was near In-N-Out, so decided that I would combine an errand with a nice lunch.
I parked halfway between the store I needed to go to and In-N-Out so I got to observe the drive-through line while walking toward the building. In-N-Out uses a mobile ordering device to help speed customers through the drive-through.
There is almost always a long line for the drive-through at lunch.
I was lucky enough to snag a seat. The restaurant was packed as a large bus full of young people had arrived about 20 minutes before me. The workers said that there had been a line that went out the door and halfway around the building. There were still about 20 people sitting outside in the grass eating their lunch.
I got my regular Double-Double with fries and a drink. See: Back Home Burger
Of course the burger was wonderful as usual.
Today I decided to take a picture of the Bible references that were on the packaging. The Double-Double wrapper has Nahum 1:7.
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him. (ESV)
The bottom of the French fry tray has Proverbs 24:16.
for the righteous falls seven times and rises again,
but the wicked stumble in times of calamity. (ESV)
The first two scriptures probably don’t come readily to mind for most people, but this last one should. John 3:16 is on the bottom of the drink cup.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (ESV)
This time next year I will have another lunch choice if I have to run an errand at the same store. They are getting ready to build a Chick-fil-A across the parking lot from In-N-Out.
Did you have a nice lunch today?
Steven
Yummmm….now we could use another good burger place around here!
Our In-N-Out burger is placed in a bad place logistically, and the drive-thru always mucks up traffic. Glad I’m a vegetarian! 😉
