One of the restaurants that I have looked forward to eating at on this trip is WonderPho.
As you can see by the post title, there have been two previous posts about this restaurant: A WonderPho Dinner and A WonderPho Dinner II
This evening after a jet lag inspired nap, I decided that it was time for my first Asian cuisine of the trip. It will not be the last.
My dinner this evening started off with a bottle of water and a basket of taro chips.
These are really cool taro chips. They have a dense structure, but are still crisp and have a great taste. I would definitely buy a bag of these if I ran across them. I love the patterns on the chips as well.
Next to arrive at the table was a plate of items to add to my bowl of pho. Bean sprouts, basil, lime and onions are all provided for you to season the pho. I used most of the items, but did not add any additional onion.
Then came the nice big bowl of Pho Ca Ri. Beef and noodles in a nice yellow curry broth. I then added in the basil, bean sprouts and lemon and several dashes of Sriracha for a little bit of a kick.
I really enjoyed the pho, especially the pieces of beef. I dipped some of them in a bowl of plum sauce for some additional flavor.
The pho was very delicious and I finished the entire bowl. A very WonderPho dinner.
I then decided that I had a little bit more room in my stomach for some dessert.
I decided to have one of my favorite desserts. Just a simple bowl of vanilla ice cream. A nice end to a wonderful meal.
I did have something uniquely Canadian for lunch, but I don’t want to clutter up this post with two meals.
Now to get to sleep earlier than normal to help shake the jet lag.
Steven
Are those potato or taro or something like that?
They are Taro chips. I am going back and changing it in the post. I thought that they were potato chips. They taste like they are potato.
Not my type of food.
