It has been three weeks since the last post in my Agapanthus series. I had planned on posting these quicker, but something new comes along and pushes them to the corners of my mind.

Tonight we will look at the Agapanthus as it starts to open and the first flowers appear.

Agapanthus – I wrote this post two years ago and it shows different varieties.

Agapanthus II – This is from June and shows the beginning of the blooming process.

Agapanthus III – This one I wrote at the first of the month and it gives information on the anatomy of the Agapanthus and shows the blooms starting to open.

This picture was taken first thing in the morning before I left for church services. You can see the sun lighting up the top of the bloom. You can also see that one flower has opened.

This picture was taken just the morning after the last one in Agapanthus III. You can see that the blooms open rapidly and that the flowers on this bloom are almost ready to open.

Here is a nice closeup of one of the little flowers. You can see how delicate they are. This one is shaded by the fence, but just barely. You can see the sun lighting up the bloom above.

This picture was taken in the evening after I came home from church services. You can see that there have been significant changes in less than 12 hours. You can see more details now that the bloom is not lit up by the sun.

Here is one last look at the first flower to open. You can see that the other ones around it are getting ready to open as well. Also in this case the sun is behind the flower and it is lighting up the petals.

These pictures were taken almost two months ago, so now the blooms are almost faded away. Be patient pictures will come someday 🙂
