Turkish Lamps

One of the most interesting types of shops in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul were the ones that sold lamps.

Grand Bazaar, Istanbul, Shopping, Cultural, TurkeySomeday I would like to have some nice decorative lamps, and I certainly got some good ideas at the Grand Bazaar.

I actually needed to buy a clock for my living room and could have had a nice souvenir if I had been thinking. When I upgraded my cable box it no longer had a clock on the display. I had to buy a clock over the weekend so that I can check the time without looking at my phone or iPad.

I could have spent a lot of time in this store, but we had a lot of stores to check out in a limited amount of time. The Grand Bazaar is huge.

Colorful Lamps, Grand Bazaar, Turkey, Istanbul, Turkish LightsI really like the colors in this picture. The twisting column of blue lights against the red background, the multi-colored globes and the stack of colorful scarves.

All part of the allure of the Grand Bazaar. Someday I will have to visit Istanbul again and spend more time taking in the chaos of the Grand Bazaar. We spent all the time we possibly could during our lunch break and grabbed sandwiches to eat on the bus. We made it back just in time.

I did make a few purchases, which I will possibly share more about in a future post πŸ™‚
