May Day

Today was May Day. I held out on writing a post until just now as I wanted to see if my blog would pass a milestone tonight.

It looks like the milestone will come early tomorrow, so I must write something quickly.

May Day - Flowers in Baskets - Girl with flowers - Spring BloomsI have been thinking of this picture today. I saw a few comments on Facebook today about placing baskets of flowers on doorknobs.

The basket in this picture would not be able to be hung on a doorknob, but it did make me think of May Day traditions. I do remember placing baskets on doors when I was a kid, but it was not an annual tradition for our family. I also remember a Maypole at school one year and weaving ribbons into a pattern as we circled around it.

Here are a few more flowers to remember May Day.

White Flower - Focus FadePurple Flowers - April Flowers - April Showers bring May Flowers - California - Colorful flowersI also just flipped the page on my office calendar and saw that today was the National Day of Prayer.

Taipei Hands Sculpture - Clasped hands - Large SculptureThis sculpture in Taipei makes me think of prayer.

You can read more about this sculpture in a post I wrote last January: Hands

Blog Views - 100000 Blog Views - Blog Milestones - 100K ViewsWhen I wake up in the morning my blog will most likely have passed the milestone. Look for a post about it tomorrow.
