Today was May Day. I held out on writing a post until just now as I wanted to see if my blog would pass a milestone tonight.
It looks like the milestone will come early tomorrow, so I must write something quickly.
I have been thinking of this picture today. I saw a few comments on Facebook today about placing baskets of flowers on doorknobs.
The basket in this picture would not be able to be hung on a doorknob, but it did make me think of May Day traditions. I do remember placing baskets on doors when I was a kid, but it was not an annual tradition for our family. I also remember a Maypole at school one year and weaving ribbons into a pattern as we circled around it.
Here are a few more flowers to remember May Day.

I also just flipped the page on my office calendar and saw that today was the National Day of Prayer.
This sculpture in Taipei makes me think of prayer.
You can read more about this sculpture in a post I wrote last January: Hands
When I wake up in the morning my blog will most likely have passed the milestone. Look for a post about it tomorrow.
