A Long Short Month

We all know February as the shortest month, but it also seemed a little bit long.

Maybe because I had a very full and busy month. It seems that February has lasted longer than 28 short days. Maybe it was that 40 hour day last Thursday.

A little something new to bring the month to a close. This post includes links to all the previous posts for the month. Just look for the italicized and underlined text.Macquarie Church of Christ - North Ryde, NSW, Australia - Large treeI started the month by losing the first day as I took Off to Summer Down Under on January 31st and arrived in Summer Down Under on February 2nd just in time for Sunday morning services.

Nando's Quarter Chicken - Nando's Hot Peri Peri Sauce - Pourtuguese Style ChickenWhile in Australia for almost 3/4 of the month I was able to eat at some of my favorite restaurants: Nando’s, Go Hun, Nando’s again and Kyushu

Laughing Kookabura - Dacelo novaeguineae - Giant Kingfisher - Kookaburra Tail FeathersI took pictures of the environment Around the Office and Around the Hotel. I also took a Nature Walk where I saw a Laughing Kookaburra.

Giraffe at Taronga Zoo - Animal Skyscraper - Giraffe and Skyscrapers - Taronga ZooOn the first Saturday I took a ferry ride across Sydney Harbour to visit the Taronga Zoo. While there I took more pictures of Taronga Zoo Birds, Valentine Storks and asked Where’s Perry?

Blue Mountains - Australia - Rock Formation - Katoomba - GeologyOn my second weekend in Australia I took a train to the Blue Mountains. While there I visited Katoomba Falls, the Blue Mountains National Park and took pictures of several birds including a Pied Currawong.

There were also several holidays this month including Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, Lincoln’s Birthday, President’s Day and Washington’s Birthday.

In the evenings I was able to watch sports that I don’t usually see. I was able to watch Cricket, Rugby and the many different events of the Winter Olympics (especially Curling). In my post Winter Olympic Thoughts, I figured out that it has been 16 years since I have not been traveling during the Winter Olympics.

Pink Blossoms - Winter Blossoms - Early Blossoms - Early Spring - California WinterFinally it was Home to Winter? to see Bees and Blossoms and an Orchard Sunset.

Mail call had me writing about what was In the BAR, and a trip to the library found a book,  The Courage of Sarah Noble, which has an interesting family connection.

Ankerstein - Anker Building - Anker Church - BlocksAs the month drew to an end I finished posting my series of pictures showing the building of an Anker Church Building.

Finally, I bought a New Camera and am looking forward to learning some of the new features before I go on upcoming trips to Japan and Turkey.

I hope I didn’t miss any links 🙂

Has it been a Long Short Month for you?

Steven
