Thai Food Thursday

My favorite Thai food restaurant outside of Thailand was closed the first couple of nights I was here in Australia and then I have had other plans for dinner since.

Tonight I finally was able to go have dinner at Go Hun.

However, it is not the first food I have eaten from Go Hun this week. We had food from Go Hun brought in for lunch earlier in the week.

Go Hun is across the street from my hotel, so it was a quick jay-walk across six lanes of traffic for dinner.

The food was presented very nicely, much different than the take-out we had earlier in the week.

Massamum Beef is my favorite dish at Go Hun. I really love the taste of the turmeric curry with the beef and potatoes.

A more common spelling of Massamum is Massamam. However, this is the way it is spelled on their menu and they are not alone. It seems that it is an acceptable variation.

My personal name for this dish is Thai Pot Roast. Just think of your Mom’s pot roast with a Thai twist.

Go Hun Thai Food - Australian Thai Food - Lane Cove Road - North RydeGo Hun is not a very big restaurant. Most of their business is take-out, but it is nice to sit on a stool looking out into the busy street while enjoying a great meal.

I have eaten quite a few meals while sitting on the stool in the middle of the picture.

I will most likely eat several more meals here during the trip. Next up is probably a delicious Pad Thai.

What is your favorite Thai food?
