Some of the best sunsets in California are in October.
It must be the change in the weather and the timing of when they happen. Maybe I am just missing them at other times of year because they happen when I am not outside.
As you can see by the title of the post, this is a sequel to my October Sunset post from last year. In fact, it is one year and one day later 🙂
So what did the sunset look like tonight?
The sky was a riot of color as the sun set over the hills on the western side of the Central Valley. I stopped to take this picture on my way home from church services.
I took this picture while stopped at the stop sign in Westley, California. I love the way that the palm trees are all silhouetted against the beautiful sunset.
The sky is so beautiful and full of color. The little store in the front adds a little touch of local life to the picture.
The drive home was so beautiful. I had trouble keeping my eye on the road instead of the sky. It was a good thing that the road is straight as an arrow for most of the drive home.
The colors above started to fade as the color just above the hills started to intensify.
I was soon zooming past orchards and fields of tall corn and the sunset was obscured.
I spotted an opening in the crops and snapped another picture while I had a chance. By the next break in the crops the color was all but gone.
Did you have a beautiful sunset tonight?
Steven
