Chinese Flowers

When I travel I always like to take pictures of flowers. As I look at the previous sentence, I should just say that I like to take pictures of flowers. I don’t have to be traveling to enjoy flowers. For those of you who are regular visitors to my blog, you know that you will often see pictures of flowers.

You often see the same flowers around the world as many species of flowers are widespread due to their beauty and easy availability.

Tonight I will share a few of the flowers from my recent trip to China.

Lotus Blossom - West Lake - Hangzhou - China - Pink Lotus Blossom

This picture was taken at West Lake in Hangzhou. I really love the color and shape of this lotus blossom. At West Lake there were many beds of lotus flowers. Luckily this blossom was near the shore and I was able to get this nice picture.

West Lake was absolutely beautiful. You can see more pictures and details in my post about West Lake.

Violet Flowers - Flower Centers - bee on flower - Hangzhou - West Lake - Chinese Flowers

The picture above was also taken at West Lake. I really like these little flowers and also the little bee that is exploring the center of one of them.

Purple Cone Flower - Shanghai, China - Yu Yuan Gardens - Purple Flowers - Cone Flowers This picture was taken in Shanghai in a park near the Bund. I really love the drooping petals of this purple cone flower and also the contrast between the center of the flower and the petals.

Flower close ups are really nice, but sometimes it is also nice to see the flowers with their surroundings. These flowers were in beautiful surroundings. I really like the tree in the background and also the wooden fence.

Shanghai Bund - Red Lily - Shangai, China - Skyscrapers - Skyline - riverside

I really like this last picture with the red lilies in the foreground. Here we see the skyscrapers across the Huangpu River from the Bund in Shanghai.

This picture also reminds me of a picture that I took of red lilies with the Sydney Opera House in the background. You can see the picture in my post: A Little Opera

As I look back over these pictures I realize that I posted them in the reverse order of when they were taken. I did not intend to do it this way, it just happened 🙂

I hope you enjoyed these beautiful flowers.

Steven
