With a title with the word ‘more’ in it there must have been other posts about butterflies in the past.

I will start by giving you the link to two other posts that were specifically about butterflies.

The first is Butterfly Picture Surprise. This was posted during the first month of this blog and for the first two months it was the most popular post. I did not think another post would surpass it for a long time. Of course, now it is way back in the pack, and when I just checked it had not even been looked at for several months. I go back and look at it once in a while as it is one of my favorites. But, my views do not count when I am logged in. The pictures in the post were taken at the Toronto Zoo.

The second is to a post called Blue Morpho, and is about Blue Morpho butterflies at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha.

Tonight I want to share a few more butterflies from the Berniece Grewcock Butterfly and Insect Pavilion at the Henry Doorly Zoo.

The first picture is of a Cairns Birdwing (Ornithoptera priamus). I really like the colors of this butterfly as it clings to a leaf. The window behind makes for an interesting backdrop. You can tell that there is high humidity in the pavilion from the dried out drops on the window. It looks a bit like my shower doors :-).

The color on this Golden Helicon (Heliconius hecale) is not as varied as the Cairns Birdwing, but the color is vibrant. Especially against the beautiful green leaves. I also like the contrast with the black of the body and wings.

This last one is an owl butterfly. Most likely it is a a Pale Owl (Caligo memnon) but it could possibly be a Forest Giant Owl (Caligo eurilochus) or one of about 20 other species of owl butterflies. In any case, it is an owl butterfly. The eye spots are not seen here as they are on the opposite side of the wings, but owl butterflies have large eye spots.
