Another Wednesday and another post that is more pictures than words. This week the theme is Flora and Fauna.
This first picture is a bee pollinating a flower at the General Lew Wallace Study in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Lew Wallace is the author of one of my favorite books, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ. You can read more about this museum in a post that I wrote last September: Ben-Hur
While in Crawfordsville, I also got this nice picture of a yellow butterfly on a yellow flower.
Sticking with the yellow flower theme, I call this one Bug on a Bloom. I took this picture just around the corner from my house last spring. I really like the long antennae on this little bug. You can barely see them as they get lost in the background.
I took this picture on the first day of spring a couple years ago. I really like these little purple flowers and was lucky to also get a picture with a bee harvesting pollen from one.
I saved one of my favorite pictures for the last of the series. Here we have a fly resting on a California Poppy that is backlit by the setting sun.
I used this picture before in a post about the California Poppy, the state flower for California.
I always like it when I can capture a picture of flora and fauna together. This is just a few of my favorites :-).
I hope everyone had a great Wednesday!
Steven
