Old Blue Monday

Today was an interesting day. I started off the day going to the dealership to close out the paperwork on the repair of ‘Old Blue’. If you have been following my posts, you will know that Old Blue spent the last two weeks at the dealership while I was in Mexico City. Friday Frustrations tells about the breakdown and Saturday Evening Walk details some of the drama of trying to get Old Blue fixed.

My dealership went out of their way to help me out, including leaving my car at the train station for me so that I had a way home from the airport. The car had started a little hard a couple times yesterday, and I mentioned this when I closed out the paperwork this morning. They told me to keep an eye on it. Well, lunch time came and Old Blue decided not to start. I guess Old Blue wanted to spend some more time at the dealership.

This was definitely not what I wanted to see this afternoon. The roadside assistance sent a small truck to try and start my car, but without success. It was then time for the big truck and a ride for Old Blue back to the dealership.

It was weird to look back at Old Blue sitting on the Flat Bed as we headed toward the dealership along my normal commute route. Fortunately, we beat the traffic by just a bit and made it there in good time. I then waited for the rental car company to come pick me up and then headed home.

It is weird to see a white car in my garage instead of Old Blue. I guess Old Blue also wants to get out of driving to Stockton for Jury Duty tomorrow. It will be a fretful day as I wait for news as to what is wrong with Old Blue and also spending a day at the courthouse waiting to see if Jury Duty tries to interfere with my next trip.

On the plus side, I got home early enough to get my overgrown lawn mowed and also snap pictures of my first two roses of the season.

This first one was tucked out of sight behind a lot of leaves. I almost didn’t see it. This is on my miniature Rose Bush. I am sure that when I return from my next trip that this little rose bush will be full of blooms.

Here is another rose that is starting to open up on another bush. It is actually quite interesting. It has only a very thin stem and is growing directly out of the largest cane near the base of the rose bush. I have not seen anything quite like it before. I will have to get a few more pictures over the next few days that illustrate this better.

Well, tomorrow is another day and I am sure that as always everything will work out and Old Blue will be home soon.

I hope your car work is under warranty, it’s so darn expensive to get anything done. The roses are gorgeous, what a ray of sunshine to come home too.
